Bonaire is considered by many as the shore diving capital of the world. Bonaire is home to 63 dive sites of which, almost all of them are accessible by driving. The majority of the dive sites are on the west side of the island facing the Caribbean Sea, thus offering calm water. The water is calmest in the middle of the Island with the waves getting rougher as you approach the North or the South. As Bonaire is a small island, all dive sites are within an hour from each other. Be careful though. Entrances to the majority of the dives are characterized by rocky coral and the use of sturdy dive booties is a must. To the west of Bonaire is Klein Bonaire, an even smaller island that is accessible by boat and offers pristine dive conditions.
